“Frances and Stephen Light were introduced
to me via PeopleActiv through a business contact
and during my tenure at The AIDS Consortium in
South Africa. This introduction was made on a
"highly recommended" basis as I had
just taken the organization through a period of
major unrest and change and was in the throws
of re-positioning the organization at every level:
its Governance, team, membership and donors. This
was a mammoth task and one that I could not do
on my own. Frances was my main contact and from
the very first point of contact she was able to
provide me with reassurance and confidence that
I made the right decision in the engagement of
the PeopleActiv team. The engagement of PeopleActiv
occurred over a few years through a range of different
projects; mainly: team building workshops, corporate
review and positioning, HR performance related
development via CAPS and team awareness workshops,

"I was lucky enough to be a student of
Stephen’s when he was Lecturing at Varsity
College. I remember leaving every one of his classes
feeling energized, full of hope and inspired to
do something great with my life. He always spoke
with such passion, and it didn’t seem to
matter what the main topic of the lecture was,
his principle point was always that we are all
here to do wonderful things with our lives, and
with the correct mindset, anything is possible.
I continue to refer to my old study books from
time to time, in order to refresh myself when
I am stuck on a given problem, but it isn’t
Kotler and Armstrong’s words that come to
my aid, or even those of the great Maslow, it
is the memories of the feelings that Stephen Light

from me. But I have been working on some affirmations
that were more difficult to achieve than the other.
I still read my book once a month; I do make time
for myself at least once a week then enjoy whatever.
As you know we attend a yearly conference.
The third one that I have been working on was
to be labeled as Best Nurse Administrator by demonstrating
my abilities.
Guess what..... I received the Peer Award from
PHA which involves things like sharing my knowledge;
enrich myself by continuous learning, positive
feedback from my members, companies and the members
I served etc. I also received an Award for the
Nurse scoring the highest marks in a three part
assignment that had to be done over a year.
I give you this feedback so that you know that
